It is a public university located in Grozny, Chechen Republic, Russia. Grozny State Oil Technical University (GSOTU) was founded in 1920 as the Higher Petroleum Technical School, consisting of eight divisions, two of which were higher. The first graduation of engineers took place in 1925. In 1929, the school acquired the status of a university of union importance. By the mid-1980s, the scientific-pedagogical and material-technical potential of the institute made it possible to conduct training in almost all specialties of the technological cycle of oil and gas production. Grozny State Oil Technical University is forming its own scientific schools, known not only in the country, but also abroad. The scientists of the institute were engaged in fundamental developments in the field of oil and gas geology and geophysics, drilling and development of oil and gas wells, oil refining and petrochemistry, thermal physics, and construction. Over its history, Grozny State Oil Technical University has trained more than 50,000 specialists for various sectors of the country’s economy. Among the graduates of the institute are five Heroes of Socialist Labor, ministers of the petrochemical and oil refining industries of the USSR. At present, the material and technical base of the institute consists of buildings that meet the requirements and standards of the educational process, equipped with language laboratories, computer classes, and modern educational laboratories. There are 30 laboratories and 15 computer classes in all faculties of the institute. Since 2006, an information and computing center. Of the 37 departments of the institute, 22 are graduates who train specialists in 32 specialties. The institute trains about 6,500 students, including more than 3,500 full-time students. Over the past five years, the institute has graduated more than 3,000 specialists, 150 of whom received diplomas with honors.

Irkutsk National Research Technical University was opened in May 1930 in Irkutsk city as the Siberian Mining Institute, to begin training for the gold mining industry. In 1938 Irkutsk State Technical University was renamed as an Mining and Metallurgy Institute and in 1960 Irkutsk State Technical University became the Polytechnic Institute. In 1950 the basis of the Mining and Metallurgical Institute began training engineers and opened new departments: Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Technology, Engineering, Geological Survey. In 1970 there were 8 faculties of the Institute which trained specialists in 39 profiles. On the left bank of ANGARA river Institute built a town with large academic buildings, dormitories and stadiums. Institute became the largest university in Irkutsk. In June 1978 the first edition of Architects was made by the department of architectural design. Rector (Prof) SB Leonov played a major role in the development of the university. In the 1990s, the Irkutsk State Technical University organized new humanities faculties and in 1993 received the status of a technical university. Irkutsk State Technical University became the largest university in Eastern Siberia, which enrolled more than 15,000 students. In Irkutsk State Technical University students are citizens of the Russian Federation and from more than 18 countries. Today Irkutsk National Research Technical University has more than 100 departments.

Kuban State Technical University is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in the Kuban and the North Caucasus. Kuban State Technical University was founded in 1918 as the North Caucasian Polytechnic Institute. Over the years Kuban State Technical University has repeatedly changed the name, in 1919 Kuban Polytechnic Institute, in 1923 Kuban Agricultural Institute and 1930 North-Caucasian Institute of Food Industry. In 1943 North-Caucasian Institute of Food Industry was united with Krasnodar Institute of Food Industry, on the basis of which in 1963 Krasnodar Polytechnic Institute was created. In November 1993, the Institute received university status and was renamed Kuban State Technical University. Currently Kuban State Technical University enrolls 6700 students within Russia and 21 foreign countries. Since formation Kuban State Technical University has trained 28000 professionals. Kuban State Technical University has 12 faculties, 56 departments and a teaching staff of 1400 skilled teachers.

South Russian State Technical University (NPI) has made a significant contribution to the development of engineering education in Russia, having trained more than 150 thousand experts. Currently the SRSPU (NPI) basic activities are the large-scale fundamental and applied scientific researches, innovative technologies aimed at training the highly qualified engineering personnel corresponding to strategic problems of the government in ensuring transition from the resource economy to the economy of innovative type.

The history of creation of FSBEE HPE “DGTU” dates back to 24 January 1970, when the Council of Ministers of the USSR enacted by-law on the organization of Dagestan State Polytechnic Institute. By order No 330 of the Minister of Higher and Specialized Secondary Education of the RSFSR of 17 August 1971 the structure of Dagestan State Polytechnic Institute, list of departments, laboratories, and classrooms as well as the consultative body of the Institute were confirmed, and by order No 71 of the RSFSR Ministry of Higher Schools of 24 February 1971 all the organizational issues were settled up, and in 1972 the institute was set up. Mechanical, Instrument-Making, Building and Technological faculties were considered to form the structure of the Institute.

This institution is not only rated as one of the largest educational institutions of the region yet it also is a unique site for numerous scientific and innovation projects, the leading arena for intercultural dialogue both within the region and beyond, and is a leading force contributing to the sustainable regional development through educational, cultural, and scientific links both within NCFD and with the neighboring countries.
