During World War II Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University was evacuated to Ufa city, where after some time Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University transformed into Ufa Aviation Institute. New aviation university in Rybinsk was opened on the 25th of May in 1955 as an evening Aviation Technology Institute with two faculties – Aircraft Mechanics and Technology.

Ulyanovsk Higher Education School of Civil Aviation is the oldest Russian institution for training of flight crews for civil aviation. Ulyanovsk Higher Education School of Civil Aviation has two branches Krasnokutsky Flight School of Civil Aviation and Sasovo Flight School of Civil Aviation. Ulyanovsk Higher Education School of Civil Aviation was established in 1935 in Bataysk city – a small town near Rostov-on-Don. In 1939 Ulyanovsk Higher Education School of Civil Aviation was moved to Ulyanovsk city. Today in Ulyanovsk Higher Education School of Civil Aviation the initial training of pilots is conducted on the aircraft F-1 , F-2 , and higher training is carried out on aircraft ANT-9 , ANT-4 , SB , SS-84. At present Ulyanovsk Higher Education School of Civil Aviation has 4 faculties, 16 departments and teaching staff of 250 professionals. Every year Ulyanovsk Higher Education School of Civil Aviation trains 1500 specialists. During all this time Ulyanovsk Higher Education School of Civil Aviation has trained over 15600 specialists and pilots.

Ufa State Aviation Technical University is the leading and largest technical university city of Ufa and Bashkortostan. Ufa State Aviation Technical University is the center of Russian science and culture. Ufa State Aviation Technical University is one of the oldest universities in the Ufa region. University is organized in 1932 as Rybinsk Aviation Institute, later in 1942 Rybinsk Aviation Institute was installed in a permanent location in Ufa as Ufa Aviation Institute named after Ordzhonikidze. In 1992 Ufa Aviation Institute was renamed into Ufa State Aviation Technical University. In 2003 Ufa State Aviation Technical University changed into Ufa State Aviation Technical University. Today training in Ufa State Aviation Technical University is carried out in 61 departments and 25 directions in the field of aviation and aerospace engineering, automation and control, engineering and metalworking, Instrumentation, radio and communications, Applied Mathematics, information and computer technology, Economics and Management. At present Ufa State Aviation Technical University has 750 skilled teachers who train 4500 students. Since the formation Ufa State Aviation Technical University has trained over 28000 students.

Siberian State University of Science and Technology named after Mikhail Fedorovich Reshetnev is a higher educational institution in Krasnoyarsk. Siberian State University of Science and Technology formed in 1960 as a Technical college (branch of Krasnoyarsk Polytechnic Institute). In 1989 Technical College became Krasnoyarsk Institute of Space Technology. In 1992 Krasnoyarsk Institute of Space Technology transformed into Siberian Aerospace Academy, which in 2002 changed into Siberian State University of Science and Technology. Today Siberian State University of Science and Technology prepares highly qualified personnel for the aerospace industries and conducts its own research and development activities. In 50 departments Siberian State Aerospace University employs 970 skilled professionals who train 7800 students in 25 specializations. In 55 years Siberian State University of Science and Technology has trained 30000 professionals.

Aerospace Engineering University of Moscow (National Research University) is a very prestigious Higher Education Institution in the field of Aviation. Aerospace Engineering University of Moscow is a combination of Techno-park, classrooms, numerous scientific laboratories, 12 research and education centers, 7 resource centers, Pilot training Plant, airfield and social infrastructure. Aerospace Engineering University of Moscow was founded in 1930 to provide training of qualified personnel for the aviation industry. In 1925 Bauman Moscow State Technical University organized the aeromechanical department which was converted into aero mechanical faculty in 1930. On March 20, 1930 Bauman Moscow State Technical University decided to open five specialized engineering schools. Aeromechanical School for Graduates was one of the schools among them. Aeromechanical School for Graduates was organized with three divisions: Aircraft Manufacturing, Motors and Aeronautics. In the spring of 1930 Aeromechanical School of Graduates enrolled the first set of 161 students in its first year. On August 20, 1930 Aeromechanical School of Graduates was renamed into Aerospace Engineering University of Moscow. Aerospace Engineering University of Moscow was constantly working on the design and construction of aircraft of different types and their engines. From 1930 Aerospace Engineering University of Moscow has designed more than 200 types of aircraft and aircraft engines, including 26 aircraft, 25 helicopters, 30 gliders, 29 remotely piloted aircraft, 12 of artificial satellites LA 6, 11 aircraft with flapping wings, 10 underwater research vehicles and 44 aircraft engines. In 2009 Moscow Aviation Institute became one of the 12 universities receiving the category of “National Research University”. Currently, Aerospace Engineering University of Moscow is the only university in Russia which carries out training of qualified personnel in the entire field of Aviation products, rocket and space technology. Today the Aerospace Engineering University of Moscow has administrative staff of 1218 in 102 departments. Since 1930, over 37000 students have graduated from Aerospace Engineering University of Moscow. At present Aerospace Engineering University of Moscow has a volume of 8500 students.

Moscow State Technical University (Bauman Moscow State Technical University) is the first technical university in Russia. Moscow State Technical University is Russia’s National Research University, Research Center and a valuable object of cultural heritage for the peoples of Russia. July 1, 1830 Emperor Nicholas I approved the Regulations for the handicraft school. The aim of the school was to teach various crafts in conjunction with deep theoretical knowledge. By 1868 the quality of education in the “craft school” had become so high that it was reorganized into a special institution of higher education – the Imperial Moscow Technical College. The main purpose of Imperial Moscow Technical College was to form engineers, architects, mechanical engineers. During Soviet Times the Imperial Moscow Technical College was renamed into Moscow Higher TechnicalSchool. In 1938, Moscow Higher Technical School opened the new department of defense, later in 1948 the Faculty of rocketry was added. On July 27, 1989 by the decision of the USSR State Committee for Public Education, Moscow Higher Technical School was named after N.E. Bauman and awarded the status of a technical university. Till now the University has trained about 200 thousand engineers who are known public figures of high rank, outstanding chief designers, famous scientists, managers of large organizations and astronauts. Today Bauman Moscow State Technical University has 1800 students in 70 departments and a teaching staff of 4500 professors and teachers.

Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation is one of the famous universities in the Aviation Industry. Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation is located in Saint Petersburg. Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation was established in 1941 as Leningrad Institute of Aviation. The first year Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation was started with 1200 students. Today Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation consists of 6 institutes, 13 faculties and 40 departments. The University has a teaching staff of 670 highly qualified professionals. Every year Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation enrolls 2,000 students in undergraduate and graduate courses. Saint Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation was established in 1955 as an Aviation School of Higher Education. In 1972 Aviation School of Higher Education was reorganized into the Saint Petersburg Academy of Civil Aviation. Taganrog Aviation College named after V.M. Petlyakov is one of the oldest educational institutions in the South of Russia. Taganrog Aviation College of V.M. Petlyakov is a secondary specialized educational institution which was established in connection with the perceived need for qualified technicians for the fast growing industry of Taganrog and mining areas of Donbass. Taganrog Aviation College was founded in 1899 as Taganrog Technical School which in 1920 changed into Taganrog Metallurgical College and 1930 it became Taganrog Aviation College. Taganrog Aviation College continues to train specialists in their traditional specialties in the fields of Aircraft Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Software Technology and Automated Systems. Today Taganrog Aviation College has 7 faculties, 44 departments and staff of 650 qualified teachers. Every year Taganrog Aviation College enrolls 3500 students. From 1899 Taganrog Aviation College has trained 45000 professionals.

Troitsk Aviation Technical College is a branch of Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation in Troitsk. Troitsk Aviation Technical College is one of the largest educational institutions of Russian civil aviation. Troitsk Aviation Technical College was established in 1947. At present Troitsk Aviation Technical College is a modern educational complex, it has four academic buildings, two dormitories, a dining room, library with large reading room, three gymnasiums and a club for three hundred people. The college is located in the city center. The training sessions in Troitsk Aviation Technical College are held in well-equipped classrooms and laboratories. Classes are conducted in 28 departments with 410 highly qualified teachers. Over the years the college has trained more than 26,000 young professionals who work in virtually all civil aviation enterprises of Russia.
