East-Siberian State Academy of Culture and Arts was founded in 1960 year, at that time the name of East-Siberian State Academy of Culture and Arts was East Siberian State Library Institute, then in 1964 it was reorganized into the East Siberian State Institute of Culture and later in 1995 year the East Siberian State Institute of Culture changed into East Siberian State Academy of Culture and Arts. Today East-Siberian State Academy of Culture and Arts is one of the leading educational institutions of higher education institutions of culture and arts of the Russian Federation, a recognized scientific and educational center of Siberia and the Baikal region in the field of training of culture and art. East-Siberian State Academy of Culture and Arts has a considerable experience, materials, technologies to study the culture of the West, the East and the North, which defines its identity and content of the activity. This is perhaps the only institution in the country, among the universities of Culture and Arts, which for 50 years has undertaken training in terms of processes of interaction of two great cultures – East and West, the conditions that define today largely the geopolitics and development scenarios of the Earth. East-Siberian State Academy of Culture and Arts has always focused on the preservation and development of single and multi-dimensional cultural and educational space. At present, the Academy consists of 6 institutes, 26 departments, and 2 branches in the cities of Kyzyl and Chita.
