Baikal State University of Economics and Law is a higher education institution in Irkutsk city of the Russian Federation. Baikal State University of Economics and Law established in 1930 as a Siberian Financial and Economic Institute on the basis of Humanities faculty of Irkutsk State University. In 1939 Siberian Financial and Economic Institute changed into Irkutsk Financial and Economic Institute. In 1993 Irkutsk Financial and Economic Institute received the status of university. In 2002 Irkutsk Financial and Economic University was renamed into Baikal State University of Economics and Law. Every year Baikal State University of Economics and Law enroll 1500 students. In 84 years Baikal State University of Economics and Law has trained over 30000 law professionals. Today Baikal State University of Economics and Law has 11 faculties, 34 departments and staff of 717 highly qualified educators.
