Ural State Medical University is a higher medical education institution in Ekaterinburg city of Russian Federation. Ural State Medical University was formed in 1931 as Sverdlovsk Medical Institute. In 1995 the Sverdlovsk Medical Institute was renamed into the Ural State Medical Academy. In 2013 Ural State Medical Academy was awarded the status of the university renaming it Ural State Medical University. In 2014 Ural State Medical University was included in the list of the best higher education institutions in Commonwealth Independent States. Today Ural State Medical University employs 1050 highly qualified teachers in 78 departments, who train 7800 students in 9 faculties.
