Amur State Medical Academy is one of the oldest higher medical educational institutions of the Far East. Amur State Medical Academy was established on June 26, 1952 by order of the Council of Ministers, as Blagoveshchensk State Medical Institute. At that time Blagoveshchensk State Medical Institute enrolled 200 students. In 1996 Blagoveshchensk State Medical Institute was converted into Amur State Medical Academy and admitted to the list of Medical Schools of Europe, which allows the University to unify the training of doctors with European standards. In 2013, Amur State Medical Academy received the Level IV accreditation certificate by the State Accreditation Department. Today, in Amur State Medical Academy the training of graduate students is conducted in 28 departments and post graduation in 6 departments. There are 42 Medical Doctors, 27 professors, 58 associate professors, 142 PhD, 22 distinguished doctors of the Russian Federation working in Amur State Medical Academy.
